Modoc National Forest

Bordered by Oregon on the north and Nevada to the east, Modoc Country has the best of these varied lands- mountains, pines forests, meadows, lakes, streams, rugged canyons, wetlands, lava beds, and high desert plateaus. Crowds and congestion are nonexistent. Elevations range from 3,000 feet to 9,934 feet. Modoc Country is where the west still lives. 1999
