Portrait of Palm Springs
Portrait of Palm Springs is photographer Tom Brewster's lush portrayal of the area's stunning landscapes and cityscapes. In Brewster's 140 images taken over 25 years, you can see the desert beauty that surrounds this unusual community of movie stars and golfers---from the rugged mountains of Joshua Tree National Park to the curlew-dotted Salton Sea, from the dunes at the Coachella Valley Preserve to the green expanses of the area's numerous golf courses. Brewster captures the stark grandeur and vivid contrasts of this desert community: the native fan palms at Indian Canyons and the snow-covered Mount San Jacinto; the bronze statues of famous Palm Springs residents Sonny Bono and Lucille Ball; and the grape-laden vineyards of the Coachella Valley. 120 pages 2007 Tom Brewster
